About inactive accounts
We encourage our customers to log on regularly and use their Flexmail account. If your account has been inactive for too long, you will qualify for our automatic clean-up process.
Of course, you will be notified. Here, you can read how this works and how you can prevent your account from being deleted automatically.
How and what
When your account qualifies, all users with admin rights in your account will receive an email. As from that moment, your account will enter a one-month grace period.
During this grace period, the possibility of sending out campaigns for your account will be disabled. You can log on, though, and view and export data and consult campaign results.
If you have not contacted us or taken out a new subscription during this grace period, your account will be permanently deleted after the 30-day grace period.
A week before this permanent deletion, all users with admin rights will receive a final email.
What is a grace period?
A grace period is a four-week period that commences for an account when it is detected as inactive. During this period, all admin users of the account receive two email notifications in which they are informed about what will happen to their account:
- when the grace period begins;
- when one week of the grace period is left.
No email campaigns can be sent during the grace period.
When does your account qualify?
- Flexmail test accounts are deleted automatically after 30 days. A grace period does not apply.
- Flexmail accounts:
- via which no campaigns have been sent in the last 12 months
AND - for which no API request has been processed in the last 12 months
AND - for which no subscription account is active.
- via which no campaigns have been sent in the last 12 months
Why are inactive accounts deleted?
Accounts no longer used are deleted automatically to ensure we are and remain compliant with current and future data protection and privacy legislation. Deletion of old data also helps us protect active data, our customers and our systems. It also leads to smoother back-up processes. We notify imported accounts in advance, twice by email and by notifications in the account.
What will happen when an account is deleted?
The account and all related data are deleted completely. This includes alle campaigns, contact data, templates, payment details, API keys, contact actions, reports and other usage data belonging to the account. Once the data has been deleted, it cannot be restored anymore.
Do you want to keep your account active?
If so, you can log on to your account and contact sales@flexmail.be.
Don't need your account any longer?
In that case, you do not need to do anything. If you still need data, you can export it during the grace period.
What if you still need a Flexmail account after the grace period?
Once an account has been deleted, we cannot retrieve it anymore. If you want to use Flexmail again, you can register a new account with your current email address.
