Email builder: Email style settings

When you create a message with the Email builder you can configure the overall style of your e-mail in the Email style panel on the right. Most of these settings will be prefilled with the values set in your Brand kit when creating a new email and will also automatically be inherited by elements you place on the canvas.

Email

In this section you can control your the width, alignment and background color of your email's content. By default we use a width of 600px to ensure a responsive design and avoid having to scroll horizontally in the preview pane of email clients.

We also center the email's content by default, but you can change it to left or right alignement if you have specific artistic reasons for doing so.

The background color, that will be visible around and behind your content, will be set to grey (#f1f1f1 ) as default and the Content background color will be set to white (#ffffff ). The Content background color will be inherited by your structures automatically.

Support tip

We recommend to keep the width of your content between 600-700px. This should be sufficient for all your content needs and is perfectly suited to most webmail, desktop and mobile email clients.

Text

In this section you can define the default Font, Font size and Color of your email. All text elements and list elements you add to your email will automatically inherit these settings when adding them to the canvas.

We use Arial, 14px, Black (#000000 ) as default, but you can define your own defaults in your Brand kit.

Link

The color you set here will be used as the default link color for links you add in your text and list elements in your email. You can also toggle if links should be underlined or not. All text elements and list elements will automatically inherit these settings when adding them to the canvas.

We use blue (#0000EE ) and "underlined" as default, but you can pick your own defaults in your Brand kit.

Heading

In this section you can specify the default Font and Font size for each heading (H1 to H4) of the email. You can also configure a common default color for all headings. All heading elements will automatically inherit these settings when adding them to the canvas.

We use Arial, 22px - 16px, black (#000000 ) as default, but you can choose your own defaults in your Brand kit.

Button

In this section you can specify a default text color and background color for your buttons. All button elements will automatically inherit these colors when adding them to the canvas.

We use the primary color set in your account branding as the default background color for your buttons. You can customize your own default colors for buttons in your Brand kit.
