Overview triggers

In every workflow, you need to determine the triggers which would activate the actions you set up. A workflow always starts with a trigger. Besides in the start block, you will also have to set up triggers after using a wait or an if/else block. All triggers below are available in each of those blocks, except triggers based on dates, which are only applicable to a wait block. You can further refine your target group by combining different triggers using the AND/OR parameters. The triggers are divided into different sections.

Messages

Triggers based on whether a contact completes or doesn't complete an action regarding a certain message you have sent:

  • Contacts who open the message
  • Contacts who didn't open the message
  • Contacts who click on a link
  • Contacts who didn't click on a link
  • Contacts who forward the message
  • Contacts who didn't open the message

Campaigns

The workflow would be triggered depending on campaign delivery or upon the completion of an action in a campaign:

  • Contacts to whom the campaign was sent
  • Contacts to whom the campaign was delivered successfully
  • Contacts for whom the campaign was bounced
  • Contacts who open the message of the campaign
  • Contacts who didn't open the message of the campaign
  • Contacts who click on a link
  • Contacts who didn't click on a link
  • Contacts who forward the message of the campaign
  • Contacts who didn't forward the campaign

Forms

The form triggers are based on a contact's interaction with your forms:

  • Contacts who fill out a form
  • Contacts who didn't fill out a form
  • Contacts who open a form
  • Contacts who didn't open a form

Surveys

The survey triggers are based on a contact's interaction with your surveys:

  • Contacts who fill out a survey
  • Contacts who didn't fill out a survey
  • Contacts who open a survey
  • Contacts who didn't open a survey

Landing pages

Triggers based on whether a contact has or hasn't visited a certain landing page:

  • Contacts who visit a landing page
  • Contacts who didn't visit a landing page

Date

Attention
Date triggers are only available after using a wait block.

With the date triggers you can determine when you would like the next action to occur:

  • Date/Time
  • Period

Contacts

These triggers include a range of options depending on the changes that may occur in the organisation of your contacts in your database:

  • Contacts that are added to a list - Only one option available, as there is only one list in your account - your whole database.
  • Contacts that are removed from a list - Same as the trigger above - only the database list will be available.
  • Contacts that are added to an interest label
  • Contacts that are removed from an interest label
  • Contacts that subscribe via the opt-in form
  • Contacts which will be added to a source
  • Contacts which will be removed from a source

Contact fields

There is a wide range of options for triggers based on contact fields. You will be able to choose among the default fields and your custom fields. After you have chosen the desired contact field, you will also need to select a filter and add a value to that field.
