Create a test campaign
We recommend that you send a test campaign to a test list before sending the final campaign. To do so, you will first need to assemble a test list, which would be a segment with the email addresses you want to use for testing. You have to create this segment in advance based on a source, for example, and you can also use it for other test campaigns afterwards.
To create a test campaign, click on Campaigns > Manage campaigns. Here you can see all the campaigns you have created so far, ordered by category.
Click on the Create new campaign button and select Create new email campaign from the drop-down menu.
On the first tab, enter the data as for a regular email campaign and then click on Test campaign.
Support tip After this step you will be able to see a TEST CAMPAIGN marking at the top right corner of the page.
In this tab you have to choose the segment you wish to send your test campaign. Make sure you only select your test list of contacts. Click on Next to continue.
On this tab, you will find an overview of your campaign. Make sure to verify that all the data is correct, including the number of contacts. Now you will also see an overview of your blacklists and link tracking settings. Verify whether any forms or surveys should be found here as well. In case you don't find them here, this implies an incorrect link of the form or the survey to the message. To increase the deliverability of your campaign, check whether the text version of your HTML message has been provided. You can also click the Preview button to check your message. Click on Next to continue.
In the final step you are ready to send your test campaign. You can also insert one or several email addresses where Flexmail will automatically send a confirmation email to when the campaign has been sent.
- The test campaign has now been sent. You can find it in the overview beneath the related campaign.
- After you've sent the test campaign, you can now send the actual campaign. The actual campaign will have a status of Incomplete or Send now, depending on whether you have selected the right contacts already. If you have, the status would be Send now and clicking on it will take you to the last step to send it. If you haven't selected the right contacts yet, the status would be Incomplete and by clicking on it you can proceed with sending your campaign by entering the correct data.
Support tip You can create unlimited test campaigns. They can all be found beneath the related campaign.
